Professional training delivered via 10 pre-recorded didactic training modules, clinical skill demonstration videos, worksheets and reflection exercises. Includes an additional clinical applications skills workshop delivered live and online via Zoom (Maximum = 12 participants)

This advanced clinical training workshop provides mental health clinicians with an in-depth overview of Imagery Rescripting (ImRs) for treating adults with treatment-resistant OCD. Led by Dr. Gayle Maloney, Director and Principal Clinical Psychologist at Perth OCD Clinic in Australia and Associate Clinical Professor at the Yale University OCD Research Clinic, this training delivers practical clinical skills through a detailed 10-step ImRs-OCD treatment protocol (Maloney, Arntz & Pittenger, 2025). The workshop consists of 10 modules of pre-recorded didactic content, role-play videos demonstrating clinical skills, downloadable worksheets, and reflection exercises (6 hours of CPD); PLUS a live, online clinical skills workshop (5 hours of CPD) to practice the ImRs-OCD skills.

Workshop Content

The program consists of 10 pre-recorded modules, including:

* A foundational overview of Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard OCD treatment (1 hour)

* Comprehensive training on ImRs as an adjunct intervention for treatment-resistant OCD

* Theoretical background and research supporting ImRs

* Detailed instruction on the 10-step ImRs-OCD protocol

* Guidance on identifying appropriate aversive events for rescripting

* Techniques for conducting effective therapist-led and client-led rescripting sessions

* Methods to encourage development of healthy adult self-behaviours

* Strategies for integrating ERP and ImRs into maintenance sessions

* A special guest lecture by Professor Arnoud Arntz (University of Amsterdam) on Imagery Rescripting research

Dr Gayle Maloney

Associate Clinical Professor

Dr. Gayle Maloney is the Director and Principal Clinical Psychologist at the Perth OCD Clinic, located in Australia. She also holds an appointment as an Associate Clinical Professor at the Yale OCD Research Clinic. Gayle has treated individuals with OCD in Perth for over 25 years and still enjoys working with an active caseload of clients. Gayle is a sought-after supervisor and trainer in the OCD field and is regularly invited to present on OCD treatment at conferences, tertiary institutions, and public and private clinics worldwide. Gayle is dedicated to offering high-quality ERP training options, including live workshops, especially for mental health clinicians who reside outside Europe and the Americas and naturally require CPD to be presented in a different time zone. Her workshops focus on teaching applied clinical skills to help mental health clinicians provide personalised, values-based ERP for their OCD clients. Gayle enjoys integrating a trauma-informed approach into ERP training and aims to validate the clinical knowledge that participants have amassed prior to attending her workshops, helping them combine their existing skills with those learned in the workshop. She also concentrates on important areas in identifying treatment-resistant OCD to support clinicians and clients in challenging clinical situations. Gayle founded the Perth OCD Clinic in 2015 to provide a vital service to the Western Australian community, bringing together a team of independently practising clinical psychologists committed to providing exceptional psychological care to OCD sufferers using evidence-based practice. Gayle was awarded a Fulbright fellowship to establish an ongoing international research collaboration between the Perth OCD Clinic and Yale OCD Research Clinic. As a clinical academic, Gayle continues to work remotely for Yale University and teaches an annual class for psychiatry residents on 'trauma-informed psychological therapy for complex clients in community psychiatry'. Gayle has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on imagery rescripting for OCD and regularly presents this pioneering work at major international conferences. Her research contributions over the past decade have been instrumental in developing an evidence-based protocol for implementing imagery rescripting techniques in treatment-resistant OCD.
